Review:

Italian band The Lovecrave fronted by the lovely Francesca Chiara, is one of my fave bands, and here we have their latest cd, to be released on May 14th. I will not hide the fact that I am a lover of their previous release, 'The Angel and the Rain', and now along comes 'Soul Saliva'. Kicking off with the awesome and rather atmospheric 'The Other You', I like it already. The hideously catchy 'And Scream' follows, and this is a hit single if ever I heard one! Next up 'Warriors' has a slightly more electro feel, but maintains this catchy and up tempo style of music. The power ballad 'Fade' slows things down a little, but it seems now that I am in seventh heaven listening to this little platter. 'Get Outta Here' is next, and with music like this, I am staying exactly where I am! Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' follows, and this rendition of a Jacko song is pretty cool me thinks! Mixing it up a bit, the accoustic start to 'Your Fire' leads you into a false sense of security, before the track kicks off and bounces along extremely nicely, lovely stuff. 'Leon's Lullaby' is a cool and haunting tune, while the closing up tempo tunes, 'Tru Blood' and the slower and powerful 'Outsider' (with awesome guitar solo and orchestral arrangements) round things off very very nicely indeed. To summarise, this is a very good release and I would say it is even better than the awesome debut, 'The Angel and the Rain' (reviewed here in Nov 2006). I want to thank Francesca from the band and Kai at RepoRecords for the opportunity to review this release for the Ravenheart website. Anyway, check out www.myspace.com/thelovecrave and then get the album on May 14th - great stuff!! 9.5/10 (Reviewed by Dave)
