Review: |
I've never been a big fan of "Baywatch,"
so I wasn't too surprised by this made-for-TV movie that features
a reunion of the show's biggest female stars for the wedding
of David Hasselhoff's Mitch, whos fiancee isn't all that she
appears to be. Like the series, the movie is all about bare
skin and lots of running, jiggle, and bounce, all with that
cheesy authoritative power crap in tow. Fans will get a kick
out of all the cleavage and thigh muscles, but not much else.

and Sound |
The 1.78:1
anamorphic transfer for "Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding" is okay,
but needs improvement in places. Color saturation is good,
with accurate fleshtones throughout, but contrast is wanting
in smoothness, especially in dusk and nighttime scenes, and
shadow detail is a bit blocky in places. Edges are sharp with
some noticeable enhancement halos, while there is an abundance
of film grain throughout. Okay, but could be better. *** The
sound is mastered in Dolby Digital 5.1, and is a better-than
normal effort for a TV movie. Surround usage is generous throughout,
while the low end is somewhat active, but not as much as one
could ask for. Dialogue sounds natural, and front end stereo
separation is quite good.

Extras |
Talk
about sloppy extras; the ones included here don't even relate
to the movie itself! All we have is a featurette promoting "The
Shield," and a promo spot for "Son of the Beach." Nothing special
at all. |

Words: |
The
"Baywatch" fans will delight in the movie, for sure, but everyone
else need not apply. |
