BBefore he was The Fatman, William Conrad was a Cannon
-- Frank Cannon -- and he's loose once again to enforce
justice in California for the second half of season one,
which consists of 13 episodes. Don't let the size of Frank
Cannon fool you, as this larger than life individual is
tough and can deliver results when needed. ***
An ex-cop turned private investigator, he charges high
fees to his elite clientele in order to help the "little
guy" (those in need) as well as indulge his expensive lifestyle
and work on his Lincoln Maintaneance Mark IV, which was
always wrecked when there's gunfights and car chases. In
its freshman season, Cannon ranked #29 in the Neilsen Ratings,
and remained in the Top 30 in four of its successful five-year
run on CBS. ***
Cannon was another action-packed hit series from Quinn
Martin Productions, who was responsible for creating The
Untouchables, The Fugitive, The Invaders, The F.B.I., The
Streets of San Francisco, and Barnaby Jones, which ran with
Cannon concurrently as well as having crossovers since Jones
debuted in January 1973 and up until Cannon going off the
air in 1976. ***
