Remember That darn song gets stuck in the heads of anyone
who watched this show even casually when we were younger.
We’ve all memorized it, we all hum it from time to time,
and thanks to newer shows such as Family Guy and Scrubs
we’re reminded of that theme song.
It seems interesting that the only thing most people
I know can recall about this show was that catchy theme
song. I guess it’s hard to initially recall the show’s antics,
but this show was one of the 80’s defining sitcoms, featuring
all the unusual clothing and big hair that you could ask
for. The premise is relatively simple. A college boy (Charles)
moves in with a family to tend to the children as a male
nanny. Advertisers plugging this premise will say “hilarity
ensues”.
The show managed to last six seasons, the first of which
contained 22 episodes, and it features a number of actors
who would become more famous later in life, such as Matthew
Perry.
This show seems to have rated very well, despite the
annoying and sexually obsessed “Buddy” character, especially
with women who grew up in the 80s. However, viewing this
show recently has made me draw the conclusion that it has
not aged that well, and although this show is far from un-enjoyable,
it simply not as funny as some of the newer comedies like
Scrubs, and 3rd Rock. Thankfully the show isn’t as horrible
as Full House, especially considering the age of the show.
It just didn’t age as well as I had hoped it would.
