For 13 seasons on CBS, Dallas led the pack in the nighttime
serial genre in the 1980s with stories of double-dealing,
backstabbing, bed-hopping, family drama, and power plays
around both Ewing Oil and the Southfork Ranch. At the center
of the action was dashing yet devious antihero J.R. Ewing
(Larry Hagman), the man viewers loved to hate and hated
to love. J.R. broke every rule in probably almost every
book and yet does with a smile as well as still viewers
rooted for him and his delicious, evil ways. ***
Season 10 of Dallas consists of all 29 episodes, and
this marks the return of J.R's honest and virturous brother
Bobby (Patrick Ewing), who was supposedly killed at the
end of season eight. Ewing's departure struck a major blow,
as ratings began to declined. So, Duffy decided to return
in 1986, but how did the producers explain season nine and
his miraclous return? It was all a dream! This may led some
Dallas fans to believed that the show "jumped the shark".

Sheree J. Wilson of future Walker, Texas Ranger fame
joins the cast as April Stevens, the ex-wife of Ewing cousin
Jack (Dack Rambo). Originally a beautiful, smart, femme
fatale, she slowly evolved as an heroine when she was later
paired with Bobby during the latter run. Season ten was
the last for Victoria Principal, who has played Bobby's
star-crossed soulmate Pam since Dallas began as a five-part
miniseries in 1978. Her character's departure was explained
in the cliffhanger, in which she was severly injured in
an car accident after finding out from the doctor that she
can have children. ***
