Remember The big question in 1980 wasn’t which Jelly
Bean Ronald Reagan would pick as his favorite flavor of
the month but “Who Shot J.R.?” J. R. Ewing (Larry Hagman)
became the ultimate villain on “Dallas”. The prime time
soap continued to soar in the ratings with this cliff hanger
which was finally resolved during the fourth season. It’s
a fun season marked by enough intrigue to fulfill Shakespeare’s
dreams. ---
Image & Sound:
“Dallas” looks quite good in this full screen (the
original aspect ratio) presentation by Warner Home Video.
Colors are nice and flesh tones natural throughout the presentation.
The audio sounds quite good with nice crisp dialogue in
the original mono presentation. ---

Features: |
Although we don’t get any commentary
tracks this time we get the full length “Reunion” special
featuring the bulk of the cast shot. It’s a fine retrospective
doc on the show featuring cast memories with plenty of clips
from the show. We also get bloopers with some very funny scenes
where lines are blown, etc. --- |

Final Words:
|
The most popular season of this
classic soap arrives with some nice extras and a very good
transfer. Well worth picking up for fans of this classic soap.
I would have liked to have seen a couple of commentary tracks
but the inclusion on this set of the “Reunion” special makes
up for that omission. |
