| Review:
|
Dawson Creek's final season comes to DVD in this basic
4 disc set that should please fans of the show. Dawson's
Creek is the popular teen drama that revolves around several
high school kids and the relationships they have with each
other. While all of the young stars had their 15 minutes
of fame due to the show's success, it was Katie Holmes who
walked away a bonafide onscreen beauty. Katie Holmes owes
what she has today to Dawson's Creek and she has just recently
started to break into mainstream Hollywood. I'm not sure
what this whole Tom Cruise hoopla will do for her career,
but fans can always fall back on Dawson's Creek to see her
start out. ---
Image & Sound:
The 23 episodes all look great and are presented in
the 4:3 aspect ratio. Most of the shows fans will be buying
the set for their favorite characters rather than video
quality, but the set won't be an ugly watch especially with
all of the gorgeous stars. As for sound you'll get the standard
Dolby 2.0 mix with optional Spanish or Portugese subtitles.

The two hour season finale gets
a commentary by creator Kevin Williamson and producer Paul
Stupin, which is really the only highlight when compared to
the other stuff. Everything else such as the photos and bios
are just fluff, anything there you could easily find on the
internet. --- |

Final Words:
|
Fans of the show or Katie Holmes
will want to pick this one up. It has all the relationship
drama that has become so familiar on TV today, but good writing
keeps this show above the rest. |
