The Review:

It’s about time that this series has been release on DVD. It was part of the powerhouse after-school line-up along with Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers. This is the first volume of a wonderful series. Huey, Dewey, and Louie are left in the care of their Uncle Scrooge McDuck while Donald Duck is off to join the Navy. While Uncle Scrooge is a tough nut to crack at first, soon the boys and their ultra-rich relate are off on a series of adventures that go through history and around the world. I know that I learned a lot of my Greek mythology after school. All the great characters are introduced in this first volume; Launchpad, Gyro Gearloose, Duckworth, Webbi and the Beagle Boys.

*** Disc 1 Episodes: “Send in the Clones,” “Sphinx for the Memories,” “ Where no Duck has Gone Before,” “Armstrong,” “Robot Robbers,” “Magica’s Shadow War,” “Master of Djinni,” “Hotel Strangeduck” and “The Lost Crown of Genghis Khan.”***

Disc 2 Episodes: “Duckman of Alquatraz,” “The Money Vanishes,” “Sir Gyro de Gearloose,” “Dinosaur Ducks,” “Hero for Hire,” “Superdoo!,” “Maid of the Myth,” “Down and Out in Duckburg” and “Much Ado about Scrooge.”***

Disc 3 Episodes: “Top Duck,” “The Pearl of Wisdom,” “The Curse of Castle McDuck,” “Launchpad’s Civil War,” “Sweet Duck of Youth,” “Earthquack,” “Home Sweet Homer,” “Bermuda Triangle Tangle” and “Microducks from Outer Space.”***

Image and Sound:

This DVD has bright colors, crisp images, sharp clarity and a great transfer. The sound mix is especially good throughout

The Extras:

Commentary: None
Final Words:

Believe it or not, cartoons with a message and educational. You can’t beat this series for adventure and positive feeling.***
