Review: |
A delightfully energetic yuletide
offering, Eloise (Sofia Vassilieva) makes matchmaker between
her best friend Bill (Garvin Creel) a waiter at the New York
hotel where the rich little girl lives. She also inserts herself
into planning the nuptials of Rachel (Sara Topham) the daughter
of the owner of the hotel and her mysterious fiance. Needless
to say, havoc ensues in this delightful made-for-television
movie that aired last year on the Disney Channel and ABC.
A terrific ensemble cast featuring Julie Andrews, Christine
Baranski and others makes this yuletide offering worth a look
particularly and is suitable for children ages 5 and up.

and Sound: |
As bright
and with the twinkle of Christmas lights, “Eloise” looks amazingly
sharp and clear with bright vivid colors a highlight of this
transfer. The 5.1 sound has very good sharpness and clarity.

Extras: |
Two entertaining
Featurettes discuss the making of the movie and a bit about
the background of the author of the Eloise books Kay Thompson.
Both are geared towards children 5 and up. If your tyke has
read the Eloise books she may want to watch the profile of
Thompson as opposed to the “making of” featurette. ---

Words: |
A delightful
holiday romp, “Eloise at Christmastime” will be entertaining
for both children that have read Thompson’s books and those
unfamiliar with the character. It’s certainly more wholesome
than watching “Home Alone” and just as entertaining. |
