My God it's hard to believe this show is still chugging
away. "E.R." hit its peak during the sixth season. Staring
with the punny first episode "Leave It To Weaver" in which
Kerry Weaver was the focus of the episode to "The Peace
of Wild Things" where Benton isn't sure he wants to take
a DNA test to determine if Reese is actually his son the
show continue to operate at full strength. In "Be Still
My Heart" a Valentine's episode Dr. Carter and Lucy are
stabbed by a psychotic patient and in the follow up the
staff struggle to save their lives. All in all it's just
another season working the unpredictable Emergency Room
in Chicago. "E.R." certainly deserved all the kudos it had
earned up to this point and continued to win over new audience
members with its complex, multi-layered storylines. ---
Image & Sound:
As with the previous seasons "E.R." looks quite good
in its DVD presentation. Detail is sharp and colors nicely
reproduced. Luckily Warner Home Video has a chapter directly
after the opening titles making it convenient to skip this
section as you watch the series. The audio has nice presence
with crisp, clear dialog. You'll be able to hear every word
of the medical jargon thrown around in this series like
confetti at a party. There's a nice balance between dialog,
music and sound effects. ---
