The Review: Includes the following 24 episodes: The One With Ross's New Girlfriend, The One With The Breast Milk, The One Where Heckles Dies, The One With Phoebe's Husband, The One With Five Steaks And An Eggplant, The One With The Baby On The Bus, The One Where Ross Finds Out, The One With The List, The One With Phoebe's Dad, The One With Russ, The One With The Lesbian Wedding, The One After The Super Bowl (1), The One After The Super Bowl (2), The One With The Prom Video, The One Where Ross And Rachel...You Know, The One Where Joey Moves Out, The One Where Eddie Moves In, The One Where Dr. Ramoray Dies, The One Where Eddie Won't Go, The One Where Old Yeller Dies, The One With The Bullies, The One With The Two Parties, The One With The Chicken Pox, The One With Barry And Mindy's Wedding; This second season of Friends is entertaining, consistent and laugh out loud funny. There are many remarkable episodes, such as The One with the Prom Video and The One After the Superbowl.
Image and Sound The image is a minor improvement over the television broadcasts. It looks like the show may have been filmed on video, because the sharpness seems a little soft. The colors are strong and there is no fade. The 5.0 audio track is fitting to the show. It is clear and dispersed evenly. With a comedy like this, I don't think that they needed the subwoofer.
The Extras A couple of interactive extras, which are actually a bit weak. They could throw some more goodies (i.e. featurettes)in that's for sure.
Commentary On select episodes; The One With the List, The One With the Prom Video; The commentaries cover a lot of behind the scenes production info. The producers also give a lot of information on the character's story-arcs. The commentaries are definitely interesting and worthwhile for big fans of the whole Friends universe.
Final Words: Friends is a good sitcom to have as a season set DVD. I'm not sure if all sitcoms can make the leap from Best of sets. Friends is able to keep a sort of running mythology, making it a worth while acquisition. I look forward to the release of season three.
