"Happy Days: The Complete Second Season"
Reviewer:
Wayne Klein
Studio: Paramount/CBS Home Video
Genre: TV-Series
Release:
4/17/07
Special Features: None
Review:

Jump back in time to a more innocent time. Although "Happy Days" was supposed to be set in the 50's it always felt that it took place in a fantasy world that never existed to me. There was a lack of references to anything that truly happened in the 50's and, except for the clothes, you'd be forgiven in believing that this truly was a 70's sitcom. Sure there were some minor passing references to stars from the 50's but it still seemed like a never-never land type of place to me. That is probably exactly what the network and Marshall were hoping for in order to attract adults (who grew up then) and kids (who were curious about it). ---

Image & Sound:

Colors are good although there is a bit of fading. The shows look decent but it's clear that no great pains were taken to do a restoration beyond tweaking the colors and contrast. Audio is in mono and dialogue sounds clear. ---

Special Features:

Unlike the first season set, there aren't any at all.

Final Words:

The show is innocent and can be genuinely funny at times. It never truly appealed to my sense of humor at the time but "Happy Days" remains charming.
