Sgt. Rick Hunter (NFL player Fred Dryer) and his partner
Sgt. Dee Dee McCall (Stepfanie Kramer) are back for the
third season of Hunter, released in its entirety on a 22
episode box set. Creator Frank Lupo (also having created
The A-Team) and producer Stephen Cannell have created one
of the tougher, hard- edged cop shows of the eighties. One
of the best parts of this show is that there are many, many
guest stars that are extremely famous today, including guest
stars like Academy Award Winner George Clooney, Crash's
Larenz Tate, Anthony Lapaglia, Leif Garrett (who really
isn't around any more) and Chaka Khan. I think many of today's
cop shows get their edge (NYPD Blue comes to mind) from
the structure of this show.
Image & Sound:
The video is standard Full Screen and the audio is Dolby
Digital Stereo. Both of these really come out well on the
DVD, especially the sound. The action packed plot provides
for premium sound, even as dated sound from the eighties.***

Sorry, but die hard fans of the
show aren't getting anything special with this set, other
than the original 22-episode season.*** |

Final Words:
|
Hunter is one of the first hard-action,
rule breaking cop shows on television, and with premium special
guest stars, great writing, and the occasional humor, this
show is one of the better cop shows, right up there with NYPD
Blue and others.*** |
