The final season of the edgy comedy sketch show is released.
In Living Color is a show that raised the bar in terms of
what could or couldn't be said on primetime television.
Keenen Ivory Wayans started the show back in 1990 along
with some of the other Wayans siblings. Today we have shows
like Chappelle's Show and Mind Of Mencia that deal with
the topic of race and stereotypes every episode, and are
considered edgy. In Living Color brought that kind of entertainment
to televisions during early 90's America. You can also credit
In Living Color as a launching pad for some of today's most
successful comedians such as Jim Carrey, Jamie Foxx, David
Alan Grier, and the Wayans brothers. Although, many fans
and critics claim that this final season didn't go out with
a bang that most shows go out with. Many attribute this
lack of quality to the departure of the Wayans, who decided
to leave the show. However fans of the show should be pleased
no matter what because season five delivers the same kind
of entertainment you would expect from the show. ---
Image & Sound:
When you deal with classic television shows on DVD there
isn't high expectations when it comes to picture quality.
All 26 episodes are presented in the original 4:3 aspect
ratio. Picture quality looks as good as if you were watching
it on television. As for sound, you get a Dolby Digital
2.0 stereo track with optional English or Spanish subtitles.
The sound does what it needs to do, you don't need 5.1 for
a sketch comedy show. ---
