Review: |
Being
one of the first television shows in history to showcase African-Americans
in prominent form, "The Jeffersons" set a new precedent in television,
paving the way for future series like "The Cosby Show" and "Sanford
and Son." Given its start from various episodes of the ever-popular
"All in the Family," "The Jeffersons" takes us to an "apartment
in the sky," where we become acquainted with the lives of couple
George and Louisa "Wheezy" Jefferson, their outrageous neighbors
Helen and Tom Willis, their son Lionel, Mother Jefferson, and
the always humorous maid Florence. With continuous humor and
introspective looks at the treatment of African Americans in
our society at that time, "The Jeffersons" became a landmark
series That remains cherished by many even today. |

horrid transfer, with distorted picture and sound mastered only
