John Tucker (Desperate Housewives's Jesse Metcalfe)
stars in this teenage comedy about three women scorned.
John Tucker is a womanizing, high school basketball star
who is slyly dating three women at the same time. His first
girlfriend is Heather (Ashanti) who is the head cheerleader
with a lot of attitude. Next up is Beth (Sofia Bush) who
is the complete opposite of Heather. She is a nature loving,
animal hugging conservationalist who wants to save the environment.
To round it out is Carrie (Arielle Kebbell), the editor
of the school paper who loves to get a scoop. Bad timing
brings them all to the same place at the same time and the
truth comes out. ****
Their solution to their broken heart is to have wallflower
Kate (Brittany Snow) lure in the infamous John Tucker and
make him fall in love. When and if he falls for her they
want to turn it around and crush him like he crushed them.
All seems to go according to plan until Kate starts to have
feelings for John. Luckily John is a creature of habit and
his true nature is revealed enabling Kate to finish out
the plan. ****
For me, this movie was a shocker. I had very low expectations
going in and was pleasantly surprised. The movie made me
laugh on more then one occasion and I found myself rooting
for the underdog. The girls couldn't have been more opposite
but together they played off like they had been best friends
forever. It defiantly leans towards girly, but the girls
are hot so maybe you can trick a guy into watching it.
Image and Sound:
The picture was crisp and the images sharp. There was
a lot of color in the school and the special effects with
Jesse Metcalfe's basketball scenes were fun to watch. I
liked the contrast of the lead girls, I thought it made
it more interesting to watch with Their unique styles. The
track is Dolby Digital 5.1 and clear as a bell. The soundtrack
was worth listening to with the likes of All American Rejects,
Josh Kelley and Stefy.
