The Review:

Some might call "Kill Bill 2" the better half of this odd couple of films with different tones married by a plot, director and actors. If revenge and ultra violence are your thing, "Kill Bill 2" delivers but it also has the pointless, rapid fire dialogue that has become a Tarantino trademark. Tarantino still tips his hat to Asian kung fu movies, anime, Sergio Leone, comic books and American action films all within the course of this ambitious second half of one film. Oddly, the film is credited as being created by "Q&U"(that's Quentin and Uma for those who miss the obvious use of their first initials). Strange from a film director who once convinced his collaborator on the script for "Pulp Fiction" to remove his name as screenwriter in exchange for the money to finish a film. At any rate, Thursman's Bride goes after Bill in this one and that, as they say, is that. It's definitely the slower, more stately (if you can call it that) of the two films. Regardless, "Kill Bill 2" does entertain in high style kicking the butts of competitive film directors looking to get the tag of "the next Taratino". ---

Image and Sound: With images this kinetic and a film this long, you'd expect that the DVD picture might suffer a bit in the transfer process. You'd be wrong. "2" looks as good if not slightly better than "1". The bright, comic book colors oddly stylized visuals look like eye candy here. The vivid sound track is in constant motion keeping and will keep your system jumping somersaults and doing kicks in midair. ---
The Extras:

There's very little meat to "2" beyond the film itself. We get a single deleted scene which isn't of any signficance. We also get footage from the premiere. ---

Commentary: On this version? No, you'll have to wait for the double dip re-release later in the year.
Final Words: Funny, action packed and, yes, cutting edge as usual Tarantino doesn't disappoint. He recently made a comment that directors should quit making movies after they get in their 40's. I'd like to remind Mr. Tarantino that Hitchcock made his best movies (and John Ford, Sergio Leone) in their 50's and 60's. He may want to keep plugging away at this for awhile.
