It's a bird! It's a plane! Nope, it's a dog in a cape.
This is the story of Krypto, Superman's dog who got stranded
on Earth. Soon after he was adopted by a little boy named
Kevin. This disc has five crime fighting episodes. Originally
aired on the cartoon network, they are Streaky Story, Diaper
Madness, Feline Fatal, Dog-gone Kevin, and The Dark Hound
Strikes.****
Krypto has many great friends (as all super dogs should).
There is Ace the Bathound whose owner is who else, Batman
of course. Streaky is Andrea's cat and Krypto's next door
neighbor, who likes to hang out with the local alley cats.
Kevin Whitney is Krypto's owner who recently moved to Metropolis,
found Krypto the dog who is now his best friend. All that
leaves is the Dogstar Patrol who come form all different
galaxies to Krypto's aid. What more could a kid ask for?
Dogs and cats who are superheroes, it's the perfect cartoon.
****
This cartoon is very kid friendly. The episodes are
very short so they can keep a kids attention I suppose.
There is some slapstick humor but none of it is very violent.
The good guys are very good but the bad guys aren't so bad.
I think they could use a little more charisma but again,
they are aiming to please little kids, not middle aged moms.
As a mom though, it's not the worse cartoon to watch, I
would take Krypto over Pokemon cartoons any day. Image and
Sound: This is a very simple but colorful cartoon. The animation
is nothing spectacular and Krypto reminds me a lot of Scooby
Doo. The theme song is lame but the sound quality was fine.
In a day where animation is so detail orientated it's hard
to watch something so simplistic. But it's fun watch and
full of bright colors for the kids.
