Review:

Trial By Jury is the fourth Law & Order series. Law & Order is really one of those things in the world that I don't understand. I never really liked crime dramas, but Law & Order was the original. The original Law & Order is good from the episodes I've seen now and then, but all these spin-offs are downright ridiculous. What makes this Law & Order so different is that they not only show the police work on the crimes, but the actual trials of the victims and suspects. The stories are ripped right from the headlines, but I mean come on, how many Law & Orders do you need. This was a short-lived series that has only 14 episodes.

Image & Sound: All 14 episodes come in 4:3 and with 5.1 Dolby Digital sound. The picture and sound is good. Colors are sharp, and there are really no major flaws to it. Sound is pretty decent too. You also have English and Spanish subtitles available.

Special Features: The set tries to make up for a lack of features by including an SVU crossover episode. There is a behind the scenes featurette, which is nothing spectacular. It's a pretty standard featurette with basic info and interviews. You also get some deleted scenes, which are really the highlight of the special features. With only 14 episodes it's nice to see what was cut from them. ---

Final Words:

A forgettable spin-off from Law & Order that really wasn't needed. From what I've watched on TV it's Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU that are the strong series. Hopefully we won't see anymore spin-offs, or anymore crime dramas for that matter. Originality is becoming harder and harder to find on television. Shows like LOST and Scrubs are in my opinion breaths of fresh air in the mess of reality tv, bad sitcoms, and crime dramas that we see every night during primetime.
