This series about two plastic surgeons in practice in
Miami, Florida and the unusual requests they get in their
line of work as well. “Nip and Tuck” took a plunge off the
deep end with its Carver story arc but with that storyline
so hopes were high that the fourth season of the series
would perk up with such guest stars as Rosie O’Donnell and
Larry Hagman With the fourth season the show got back on
track with a number of other memorable guest stars and stories
that improve on the disastrous third season. Christian (Julian
McMahon) still has a hard time keeping his zipper up and
pants on most of the time while Sean (Dylan Walsh) continues
to have issues with his wife Julia (Joely Richardson). Although
the latter two are back together their relationship is still
in choppy waters. ---
Image & Sound:
“Nip/Tuck” looks sleek and sharp in its DVD presentation.
Colors look terrific and although the video quality is a
tad inconsistent during the first couple of episodes, the
show (which is shot in HD) improves radically soon after.
Audio sounds fine as well with dialogue front and center.

We get “Clever Casting” and “Sizzle” two memorable
featurettes on the fourth season. The former focuses on
the terrific guest stars that appeared. The latter focuses
on the sexuality on display in the show. “The Cutting Edge-How
Real Life Dramas are Incorporated Into The Show” is pretty
self explanatory—it focuses on real life unusual surgeries
and how they were translated to reel life. We get a gag
reel as well as deleted scenes as part of the mix. ---

Final Words:
|
“Nip/Tuck” found its zip again
with the fourth season after the nadir of season three’s Carver
story arc. This is probably the best season since the first
one with a number of memorable storylines that will keep fans
interested. If you gave up on the show, you may want to rent
or buy this and try it again. |
