Review:

Remington Steele's fourth and fifth seasons hit DVD in this decent five disc set with all 27 episodes of the show's final two seasons. Pierce Brosnan stars as Remington Steele, the role that eventually led to him being chosen for James Bond. The show is in some ways like Bond as it mixes in comedy with it's drama mystery. Bond is more about the action adventure with witty sarcastic dialogue, while this show pays more attention to character. The show should please fans, especially those of classic movies since the show pays homage to the classics in many ways. The final two seasons send our main heros around the world as they solve crimes and their relationship between themselves grow. As the series closes we learn more about the mysterious Remington Steele's past as well as what is in store for him in the future. Fans will now be able to complete their collection. ---

Image & Sound:

A show like this would benefit from today's production values, but for an 80's show it looks pretty decent. The sound is a mono track as expected, but the set is on par with the previous seasons. The aspect ratio was the standard of the time, 1.33:1 (4:3). ---

Special Features:

The set's special features are appropriately all about the show's end. We get featurettes on the fans, how the show changed the careers of the actors, and a farewell featurette. Great features considering this is a TV set of an old show. ---

Final Words:

A very enjoyable series sees it's final seasons on DVD in this very nice set. Fans will be able to complete their collection with this one, and people new to the show should definitely check out the previous seasons before digging into this one.
