The third season of “Robin Hood” arrives from BBC America
with a lot of nice extras and a full season of episodes.
The good news is that this reboot (“Robin Hood” for those
that don’t know was a TV series imported out of the BBC
on American TV back in the day and the character has been
resurrected periodically over the last 40 years). I would
recommend watching the previous season since we catch up
with Robin and his less-than Merry Men in the middle of
a conflict with Robin’s perpetual enemy the Sheriff of Nottingham
as he continues to defend the Prince John and try and keep
him in power. ---
Image & Sound:
“Robin” looks quite nice with a solid transfer. Colors
are good although the image quality varies a bit—it’s not
as smooth and sleek looking as what I would have expected
(perhaps this comes from transferring the original PAL to
NTSC). Detail is quite nice throughout although image quality
occasional slips into the soft area although it’s not very
often. ***
Audio is quite nice a solid 5.1 mix. Dialogue is clear
throughout. ---
