There aren't a whole lot of great sitcoms still being
produced on TV these days, but Two and a Half Men is one
of the few. Starring Charlie Sheen (Platoon, Wall Street)
as a slacker bachelor, Jon Cryer (Pretty In Pink, Superman
IV - The Quest For Peace) as his more-serious, recently-separated
brother, and Angus T. Jones as the separated brother's son,
the laughs are nonstop throughout the series. Season three
is no exception. ***
The 4-disc set contains all 24 episodes of the show's
third season. The episodes included here are as follows:
Weekend in Bangkok with Two Olympic Gymnasts, Principal
Gallagher's Lesbian Lover, Carpet Burns and a Bite Mark,
Your Dismissive Attitude Toward Boobs, We Called It Mr.
Pinky, Hi Mr. Horned One, Sleep Tight Puddin' Pop, That
Voodoo That I Do Do, Madame and Her Special Friend, Something
Salted and Twisted, Santa's Village of the Damned, That
Special Tug, Humiliation is a Visual Medium, Love Isn't
Blind It's Retarded, My Tongue is Meat, Ergo the Booty Call,
The Unfortunate Little Schnauser, The Spit-Covered Cobbler,
Golly Moses She's A Muffin, Always a Bridesmaid Never a
Burro, And the Plot Moistens, Just Once with Aunt Sophie,
Arguments for the Quickie, and That Pistol-Packin' Hermaphrodite.
***
Two and a Half Men never fails to please, and Season
3 is no exception. In addition to the brilliant main cast
trio, the third season delivers its share of guest stars
as well. Amongst those visiting for Season 3 are Martin
Sheen, Emanuelle Vaugier, and April Bowlby. ***
There's not much else that can be said - this show
is brilliant, and it stands as one of the best shows on
television today. The laughs never stop, and the performances
from actors and guest stars alike only add to the experience.
If you're a fan of the series, you'll want to pick up the
third season set. ---
Image And Sound:
An overall good transfer that doesn't look too different
from earlier volumes. The dialogue is loud and clear, and
always audible. Image quality looks fantastic, with only
the occasional issue or glitch in the picture. To put it
simply, this is about as good as a sitcom can look on DVD.
