The Review:

Making his mark on the hearts of many fans more than half a century ago, Mickey Mouse has become one of the world's most well-known celebrities. From various cartoons, some movies and thousands of items of merchandise, his popularity has yet to dwindle, and he has become a legend all his own.

Image and Sound The dated appearance of the cartoons makes it difficult to rate this in terms of quality, but the fact that these treasures have been carefully preserved on DVD is more than enough to marvel at. The restoration of the cartoons isn't pristine, but they do look striking, and when viewed, will no doubt be as entertaining as they ever have been. --
The Extras

This wonderful collection of Disney's first Mickey Mouse cartoons is put together quite nicely, divided onto two separate discs by years. The first disc contains those that were produced between 1935 and 1936, and anyone who loves Mickey will fondly look upon these wondrous images as nothing less than sheer magic. This disc also includes pencil tests. The second disc, filled with the cartoons from 1937 through 1938, continues the magical experience, complete with a featurette that is hosted once again by Leonard Maltin, who lovingly takes us into the world of this legendary character. --

Final Words:

Anyone with a fondness for Mickey Mouse will be more than willing to dive into this collection of his first performances. Walt Disney's vision is evident throughout this wonderfully crafted DVD set, which brings Mickey back home where he belongs.
